On September 18, 2005, Barnes Buildings and Management Group, Inc. was bestowed the 2005 National Building of the Year Award for their construction of the NH Fisher Cats Minor League Baseball Stadium in Manchester, NH. The award was presented at the annual national MBCEA (Metal Building Contractors & Erectors Association) conference held in Baltimore, MD.

Barnes Buildings also won the Award of Excellence in the Recreational Division for the NH Fisher Cats Stadium, Manchester, NH and the Award of Excellence for the Warehouse Division for their 100 Armstrong Road project, in Plymouth, MA.

The National Building of the Year, and Awards of Excellence are awarded for the outstanding pre-engineered metal building projects in the country and are judged by a group of professional architects retained by the MBCEA. Some of the best and largest building contractors nationwide submitted building entries of all denominations. To win such prestigious awards is testimony to the company and most importantly to its employees, as none of this would exist without their determination, skill, and dedication to get the job done. This is the second national award won for Building of the Year as Barnes Buildings also won in 2002 for the Campanelli Stadium home of the minor league Brockton Rox.
