RE: Brockton Stadium and Conference Center

Dear Marty,

Payton Construction would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your employees, including Tim Allsion and your foreman Jim & Mike, for your excellent work at Brockton Stadium. Barnes Buildings was very professional and exceeded our expectations in all phases of the job.

This project is a testament to your management team. Barnes Buildings submitted all paperwork in a complete and timely manner and provided the necessary manpower and leadership to make the project successful. In addition, workmanship was exemplary and coordination and cooperation with other trades was outstanding.

We are especially appreciative of you own cooperation and personal effort, along with Chief Engineer John Clough of Metallic. The project could not have been a success without the two of you spending long hours in our troubleshooting sessions. We look forward to working with you again. Thank You.

Sincerely,
Joseph Sheehan
Project Manager

To whom this may concern,

Payton Construction recently completed the new Campenelli Stadium, home of the Brockton Rox minor league baseball team in Brockton, MA. Just after commencing site work, we were forced to reconsider our budget and design build direction. I knew that Barnes Buildings, in partnership with their building supplier, Metallic Building Company, would be the answer. I have worked with Marty Barnes for over 10 years on various projects requiring steel systems or pre-engineered buildings.

What I didn't tell Marty after contacting him, was that I needed a building on site in 90 days, and oh by the way, it would be the most unique building layout that they had ever worked on. The 3-story 90,000 SF building angled around the baseball diamond and included a 16,000 SF Conference Center.

My recommendation for using Barnes Buildings for this project was extremely important both personally and professionally to me, as I had been a resident of the City of Brockton as well as the senior estimator for Payton Construction's design build team. This job had to be done right and on time.

Marty Barnes and the folks from Metallic Buildings responded immediately to meet our extremely challenging schedule for engineering, delivery and erection for the baseball stadium. Within one week of their proposal, on November 16, 2001 Payton and Gould Evans Architects were on a flight to Metallic's headquarters in Houston to go through all of the details. The response and professionalism from the design team was outstanding. With a few days a design had been finalized that accommodated the budget and maintained the originally planned character of the project. Phased steel deliveries were to begin the last week of January and Barnes Buildings was to have their crews begin erecting the structure. The first baseball game was scheduled for May 31st!

It went just as planned! Proof to the success of the stadium and its impact on the community have been highlighted in articles by the Boston Globe, NY Times, Sports Illustrated, The Enterprise, Patriot Ledger, etc. In their first year the Brockton Rox sold the second greatest number of tickets in the Northern Baseball League and their stadium is recognized as one of the finest minor league baseball facilities in the country!

Thank you for your assistance and we look forward to other successful ventures with Barnes Buildings and Metallic in the future.

To Whom this may concern,

Since the beginning of 1988, North Atlantic Energy Service Corp. at the Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant has had numerous projects completed by the Barnes Buildings and Management Group. These projects ranged from a 20,000 square foot Maintenance Facility, including a high bay shop, to several concrete deck mezzanines and a 1700 square foot Radiological Storage Facility.

Barnes Buildings faced many challenges, working under many programs here at the nuclear facility that are not required in the common construction field. The safety and quality construction practices used were proven by completion of these projects without incident. Their commitment to "do it right the first time on time" led to on schedule completions.

Barnes Buildings and Management Group is a reputable company that sets forth high standards for safety, quality, schedules, and cost control. Barnes Buildings is on North Atlantic's approved vendor list and shall be considered for all applicable future projects at the Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant.

Very truly yours,
North Atlantic Energy Service Corp.
